An annual tradition sponsored by the Parks & Recreation Department, children have a chance to meet a costumed Peter Cottontail and fill their baskets with surprise filled plastic eggs. “Each year our team distributes over 12,000 colorful goodie-filled eggs across the lower fields of City Stadium for local children to enjoy the fun of finding the eggs and filling their baskets to the brim,” said Darcy Belyea, Parks & Recreation Director. Children ages three to ten years old are invited to bring their baskets to collect as many eggs as they can during the late morning festivities. Parents are encouraged to bring their cameras for special photos with Peter Cottontail and all children receive a raffle ticket for a special drawing of sweet treat prizes donated by Henry’s Sweet Shoppe. This event is for Glen Cove residents only and parental supervision is required. A rain date has been set for Monday, April 17 at 11:00 a.m. For more information please call Glen Cove Parks and Recreation at 516-676-3766.
