On Sunday, August 23, the 319th Army Band will perform a jazz concert at Morgan Park Summer Music Festival. The concert, which is free to the public, begins at 7:30 pm in Morgan Park. The 319th Army Band consists of six professional musicians who are members of the United States Army Reserves, part of the 99th Regional Support Command that is based in Fort Dix, New Jersey. The unit is located in Fort Totten, New York and has performed at community and official events throughout the New York City area. The ensemble, including horns, bass, drums and guitar performs under the baton of Commanding Officer Luis Santiago-Sierra. The 319th Army Band concert is underwritten by our Golden Benefactors: In Memory of Thomas Salvatore; Harris Beach PLLC; Hoffman & Baron, LLP; Honorable Joseph A. & Marguerite Suozzi and Hon. Thomas R. & Helene Suozzi. Come on down to Morgan Park and enjoy a wonderful evening of family entertainment under the stars. Bring a blanket or chairs and picnic if you wish. Children are welcome.
